Further. Further. Further.

It is the strangest thing-- to see someone from afar, and sense their loneliness.
Someone you used to know.
Sitting beside him, our distance was magnified.
"How are you?" I ask.
I wonder if that's true.
I wonder,
"Do I still know you?"

I imagine myself 10 years from now,
what will his name convey?
I hide from all the answers.

Then, I paint my hands in trust-- leave my prints on the door.

Do you know what's the worst? When you see someone that you really shouldn't know, because you didn't really ever talk to them, but yet you see them and feel an obligation to say something! For example, there was a girl in my Adolescent Development class last semseter that I worked with once on a project. Well, I saw her today and didn't know if she would think I was weird for remembering her. Anyway, I suppose it can never hurt to be friendly.
